Odometry Mileage Log
Turn your trips into an IRS-style mileage log and reimbursement total.
Odometry Mileage Log builds a mileage log for taxes or an expense report from the trips you type or a spreadsheet you attach. Each trip gets the IRS standard mileage rate for its date (2025: 70 cents; January to June 2026: 72.5 cents; from July 1, 2026: 76 cents per business mile) or your employer's rate. It checks odometer continuity, doubles one-way round trips, flags commuting and missing business purposes, totals miles and dollars by month, purpose and client, and gives you a printable PDF log and an Excel file.
What it does
- IRS-style log columns: date, start, destination, business purpose, odometer start and end, miles
- IRS rate by trip date, including the July 1, 2026 increase; medical, military moving and charity rates; or a custom employer rate per mile
- Odometer continuity check: overlaps and gaps between trips are flagged
- Recurring trips (every weekday in October, 18 miles) with dates to skip
- Commuting warning for home-to-office trips, missing purpose or destination, duplicates
- Totals by month, business purpose and client; business-use percentage from year-start and year-end odometer
- Read trips from a CSV or Excel file; download a PDF mileage log and an XLSX workbook
Try asking ChatGPT
“Mileage log for Oct 5, 2026: office to Client A, sales meeting, 12.4 mi; Oct 7 office to Riverside Clinic, delivery, 6.2 mi each way”
“How much can I deduct for 4,200 business miles driven in 2026, 1,800 before July and 2,400 after?”
“My employer pays $0.60 a mile. I drove 1,250 business miles in September 2026. How much do I get?”
Limitations
- Does not look up driving distances or track GPS; miles come from you
- IRS rates included for trips dated 2025 and 2026; other dates need a custom rate
- Up to 5,000 trips per log; the PDF lists up to 3,000 trips and the Excel file has all of them
- Download links expire after 24 hours; nothing is stored after that
- Not tax advice: whether you can deduct mileage depends on your situation
